Data Annotation Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality data annotation tasks on various datasets, including images, text, and audio, ensuring accurate labeling and adherence to project guidelines.
- Collaborate with the team to review and validate annotations, maintaining quality assurance standards critical to AI model performance.
- Utilize annotation tools such as Labelbox and Scale AI software effectively to streamline the data annotation process.
- Assist in identifying and reporting inconsistencies or errors in annotation data, enhancing dataset integrity.
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation of annotation procedures to support project transparency and reproducibility.
- Continuously update knowledge of data annotation best practices and advancements in annotation software.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to clarify task requirements and improve annotation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Annotation Specialist or similar role with demonstrated expertise in data annotation and data labeling.
- Familiarity with annotation tools such as Labelbox, Scale AI, or comparable platforms, along with strong basic data management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency in labeling tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Post-secondary education is preferred, ideally in a technical or data-focused discipline, aligned with Canadian employment standards.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and adhere strictly to deadlines in a remote or flexible working setting.
- Understanding of quality assurance processes within data annotation and AI data preparation is an asset.
