Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe medical reports and clinical documents from recorded dictations and healthcare providers to maintain precise patient records as a Medical Transcriber.
- Review and edit transcriptions for grammar, clarity, and compliance with medical terminology and documentation standards.
- Utilize transcription software and tools, including Dragon Medical Practice Edition, to enhance productivity and maintain high-quality outputs.
- Verify medical terminology and spelling to uphold accuracy and ensure reliable healthcare documentation in line with the medical transcriber job role.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other healthcare compliance regulations during all transcription processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations and ensure accurate records.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background with a focus on medical or health-related fields preferred.
- Proven experience in a Medical Transcriber position or similar medical transcription role, demonstrating a strong grasp of transcription processes.
- Excellent command of medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, and healthcare language.
- Typing speed of 65+ words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency with medical transcription software such as Dragon Medical Practice Edition or equivalent transcription tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to deliver precise and error-free documentation.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive patient information adhering to regulatory standards.
